We are thrilled to be part of ‘The Great Waddle’ of Worcester this summer. We have been participating in the art event which will see Worcester transformed into a free, fun art space for residents and visitors of the St. Richard’s Hospice.

Following on from decorating their penguin last half term, pupils and staff took part in Waddle Wednesday last week! Everyone put on their best penguin costumes to raise money for St. Richard’s Hospice who do incredible work in the local community.

Not only did everyone have fun dressing up, but pupils also took part in fun penguin themed activities throughout the day.

Children in the Early Years had fun doing Penguin dancing and they practiced their fishing skills to find fish to feed the penguins! In Upper Key Stage 2, the activities ranged from penguin PE, penguin paper quilling to doing research into the different species of penguins, finding out where they were from and plotting them on a world map to discover most are in the Southern Hemisphere.

Pupils also created origami penguins and completed a booklet based on their new knowledge.

Yasmin, pupil from Early Explorers saidI loved having my face painted for penguin day, and I am excited to see our penguin in the summer”.

Ms S Owen, Principal, “Everyone looked amazing in their penguin outfits, and we are really pleased to be able to raise money for St. Richard’s Hospice who do amazing work throughout Worcester.

“It was great to see the children engaged in learning about penguins and what we need to do to protect them. We can’t wait for the public to see the penguin we decorated last half term.”
