Sewing and Textiles
Amey Lewis
This term in Year 4, our pupils are building creativity and essential life skills through sewing and textiles. They’ve been developing resilience and patience, learning to slow down, take care, and persevere to achieve a high-quality finish. Alongside this, they’re growing an appreciation of textiles as an art form. Through creating a miniature quilt inspired by Ed Johnetta Miller, children are strengthening key skills like threading needles, sewing running stitches, backstitch and tying knots building confidence every step of the way.
It’s been fantastic to see their pride and craftsmanship shine.
