Our Curriculum Vision
We treat children as individuals and nurture the many wonderful skills, gifts and talents that they have. We foster independence, social interaction and creativity in a rich environment, where children are valued by staff and by one another.
We teach an exciting and engaging curriculum, which follows many themes to give the children experiences that will develop both their skills and knowledge. We plan from the children’s interests, encouraging them to explore, create and adapt their own learning. We offer a wide range of multi -sensory activities which cater for individual learning styles. Our approach is a balance between play, child initiated and teaching skills such as speaking and listening, reading, writing and maths.
We follow the Early Years Foundation stage curriculum and statutory guidance. Below is a link to a document which we hope you will all find very interesting and informative. The document is called ‘What to Expect When’ and is produced by ‘4 Children’ which is supported by the Department for Education. It is guidance for your child’s learning during the Early Years Foundation Stage which runs from birth until the end of the Reception Class year.
The document begins with ‘How to Use this Guide’ and explains the 7 areas of learning in the Early Years Foundation Stage. It demonstrates how it can be used as a reference to what your child can do and/or use it as a prompt to explore new things together.
